Sex Offenders in Town to be Discussed

The issue of sex offenders living in the community will be discussed tonight at a forum hosted by state Rep. George Peterson, R-Grafton.

The meeting resulted from concerns raised by town residents about Brian Addeo, the Grafton resident who broke off his monitoring bracelet and fled the state to Maine.

Addeo was ordered to wear the GPS monitoring bracelet as a condition of parole, which he was granted April 29, 2010.

On that date, he pled guilty to a series of charges, including three counts of indecent assault and battery on a child under 14 and four counts of statutory rape of a child.

Residents raised concerns at that time about the notification procedure and why he was out on parole, considering what they considered the seriousness of the charges.
