Students Reach Out

Students learn lessons about organ donation and giving back.

Jenn Cray and Marissa McKeon introduced vital information on the importance of organ donation in New England and in the country to students in Maureen Cimoch's health class at

Students discussed living and deceased donor proticol. Students also learned which organs are in the most demand and were surprised at the number of organs that can save a life.  

McKeown shared a personal story. Her brother was born needing a kidney, and remained sick for many years. She spoke of the impact this had on her family.

Cray also introduced the students to the kidney exchange program that was pioneered in New England. Many of the students will be getting their permit and license this year and have the opportunity to dicuss this with their family.

Also at Grafton High, peer leaders hosted a new student breakfast in the cafeteria for 34 new students.
