Town Of Grafton: PRESS RELEASE- Update On Seats Available For The May 17, 2022 Annual Local Election

PRESS RELEASE

On February 1, 2022, the Grafton Select Board appointed a Town Resident to fill the position in the interim period of February 1 through May 17, 2022 to the Grafton School Committee due to the resignation of Rahul Rathi, who's term was set to expire in 2023. It was also discussed to add the remaining one year term to the list of open seats for the Annual Local Election on May 17, 2022. The updated seats available are:

• Select Board – (2) – 3-year terms available 
• Board of Library Trustees – (2) – 3-year terms available 
• Planning Board – (2) – 3-year terms available 
• School Committee – (2) – 3-year terms available 
• School Committee- (1)- 1- year term available to fill a vacancy (added 2/2/2022)
• Town Clerk – (1)- 3 year term available 

The Local Election is on Tuesday, May 17th from 8 am - 8 pm

Any registered voter of Grafton may pull papers

Papers can be obtained by visiting the Town Clerks office during regular business hours (please email or call in advance if Town Hall is closed to arrange a time to pick up forms)

Papers must be returned to the Registrar of Voters, through the Town Clerk’s office, by 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 29th for certification

Nomination papers must contain the names of at least 50 registered voters of Grafton, but candidates are urged to submit more than the minimum number required in case some names or signatures cannot be verified

Candidates may withdraw their nomination papers up until 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 14th
