• As Berkshire County's housing crisis continues to spiral, Stockbridge teams up with Construct to offer rent and mortgage support (wamc.org) — A Great Barrington–based nonprofit, Construct, is expanding rent and mortgage assistance that’s already helping Great Barrington and Lee residents stay housed as evictions and costs surge. Partnering with Stockbridge’s Affordable Housing Trust, the group now offers short‑term aid for both renters and homeowners facing sudden crises, while staff warn of a deepening winter housing and homelessness emergency across South County. 
• Governor Healey Strengthens Support for Seasonal Communities to Support Housing Development and Lower Costs (mass.gov) — Great Barrington has been newly designated a “Seasonal Community,” unlocking state tools and grants to help preserve and build year‑round housing amid pressure from second homes and short‑term rentals. The designation, created under the Affordable Homes Act, lets the town pursue options like year‑round housing trusts, tiny homes, deed restrictions, and infrastructure funding, with grant applications due in early January.
