Assistant Superintendent for Learning Resigns for a New Job

Hamilton-Wenham Regional School District's Assistant Superintendent for Learning has accepted a position closer to her Rhode Island home.

The Hamilton-Wenham Regional School Committee Thursday night learned that the district’s assistant superintendent for learning has announced her resignation.

Celeste Bowler has accepted a similar position with the East Providence, R.I., school district, which will allow her to be closer to her home, according to Superintendent Michael Harvey’s most recent report to the school committee.

Harvey explained that Bowler has spent the past five years living in her Rhode Island home and in a rented apartment in Essex so that she could continue to work for the Hamilton-Wenham Regional School District.

Rather than immediately seeking to fill Bowler’s position, Harvey told the committee he wanted to take the opportunity to conduct a review of “the leadership structure to see if there is a more efficient and effective model that we may want to implement.”

He explained that he has begun with various members of the administrative team and plans to present ideas to the full administrative team, members of the faculty and the school committee before any change to the organizational structure is made.
