Comeback Championship Win for Hamilton-Wenham Senior Babe Ruth Team
After an early loss to Masconomet in the playoffs, the Generals redeemed themselves to win it all on Thursday.

The Hamilton-Wenham Senior Babe Ruth team won 4-0 over Masconomet on Thursday night to win the championship.
The game was played at Cooney Field in Beverly and featured hits by Ted Hogan, Pete Duval, Harry O’Brien, Philip Tocci and Drew Gallant. Rick Nardella had a double.
The team is comprised of 17-19-year-olds and played a 20 game regular season that ended in late July.

The Generals lost the first playoff game to Masconomet and then went on to beat Pentucket, Newburyport and Danvers - each game in a “win or go home” situation to earn a place in the Championship Game bracket.
The Generals headed into the championship needing to beat Masco twice to earn the title, since they had already lost to Masco in the playoffs.

The Generals took the first game on Wednesday night with a 5-2 victory behind Pete Duval’s one-hit pitching performance, great team defense, timely hitting and sharp base running.
Wednesday’s win forced the winner-takes-all championship game on Thursday.
The team is managed by player/coach Brian Nicoll.
