UPDATE: Ex-Babysitter Accused of Kidnapping, Assaulting Toddler Ordered Held Without Bail
Abigail Hanna will also undergo a mental health evaluation after a court doctor said she couldn't understand the charges against her.

UPDATE:
Abigail Hanna provided numerous conflicting statements to police on the morning of Lyndon Albers disappearance, creating suspicion and eventually leading to her arrest.
Hanna has been charged with kidnapping and assaulting 2-year-old Albers, a Hamilton girl she at one time babysat. According to court documents obtained by WHDH, Hanna was spotted by police driving with dirt on her face and hands. When they asked to speak with her, she invited them to her home.

ORIGINAL:
A judge ordered 21-year-old Abigail Hanna to undergo a 20-day mental health evaluation during her arraignment on charges she kidnapped and assaulted a Hamilton toddler she formerly babysat, according to The Salem News.
On Monday, Hanna appeared in court for the first time since police say she kidnapped 2-year-old Lyndon Albers from her Lincoln Avenue home in Hamilton early Friday morning, assaulted the child and left Albers in a pile of leaves eight miles from her home. An Ipswich couple found the child shivering and bruised with her head shaved, several outlets have reported.
Hanna, according to Fox25, stood in a Newburyport District Court room wearing a winter coat and supported by court officers.
WHDH reported a court doctor who conducted an initial competency hearing with Hanna told the court she did not believe Hanna understood the charges against her and had suffered a litany of past mental health issues including suicidal thoughts and hallucinations.
Hanna’s attorney, Susan McNeil, issued the following statement to media:
“At this time Abigail is addressing serious and potentially life-threatening issues. These issues have clearly impacted her overall mental health. We are in the early stages of the process of trying to determine the facts of what occurred over the past several days. We have entered a plea of not guilty to further the process.”
Hanna has been charged with kidnapping, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (a cigarette, according to Dan Hausle with WHDH), assault and battery of a child and breaking and entering in the nighttime. She is next due in court on Dec. 11 for a dangerousness hearing following her 20-day evaluation at Worcester Recovery Center.
The suspect’s family issued a statement wishing “complete healing” for Lyndon and her family.
