Hamilton Cooling Shelter Keep Residents Safe During Heat Wave
The town opened a cooling shelter in the senior center.
HAMILTON, MA — Hamilton set up a cooling shelter in town to make sure all residents have a safe place to beat the heat.
Hamilton, along with the rest of the Commonwealth, is under a heat advisory until 8 p.m. on Tuesday night. Temperatures are expected to rise up to 92 degrees on Tuesday with thunderstorms developing in the afternoon.
The cooling shelter is set up at the Hamilton Senior Center and open to all from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The town is asking that anyone who plans on staying at the shelter for the day bring their own food and water as well as a mask. Social distancing guidelines will be enforced.
