Hamilton Police Department Earns Reaccreditation

Hamilton Police Department is one of just 60 departments in Massachusetts to have earned this status.

The Hamilton Police Department has received reacreditation from the Massachusetts Police Accreditation Commission, Inc (MPAC), allowing the department to continue as one of just 60 departments in the state to earn the accreditation distinction.

The Department received its formal reaccreditation at a ceremony on Thursday, Nov. 5, during MPAC’s annual awards conference at the Andover Country Club, according to a press release.

The reaccreditation process involved MPAC assessors visiting the department in September for a three-day onsite assessment focused on the department’s polices and procedures, management and operations to include the Emergency Operations Center. The visit “tested” the department against more than 300 standards.

In what the press release called a “very favorable” report, the assessment team noted that the department is a “proactive agency geared towards working with the community, surrounding law enforcement agencies and that officers present themselves in a professional manner and display a high levels [sic] of moral.”
