Hamilton-Wenham Volleyball Earns First Win

The field hockey team was also in action Wednesday.

A couple of Hamilton-Wenham girls’ teams were in action Wednesday, but the results were quite different.

The volleyball team earned its first match win against Triton, 3-0. The individual game scores were 25-18, 25-11 and 25-11. The Generals volleyball team is now 1-1 on the season.

According to a release from coach Jennifer Flynn, sophomore Katie Hankin earned four aces on 11 serves. Senior setter Shauna Mancinelli contributed 11 assists, and senior outside hitter Litah Brown didn’t miss a serve in the match.

The volleyball team will next be in action Thursday at home against Georgetown with junior varsity hitting the court at 4 p.m. and varsity at 5:30 p.m.

The girls’ field hockey team was also in action Wednesday with its first match of the season.

The field hockey team lost its match to Ipswich by a score of 8-2. Sophomore Nadia Sostek scored the first varsity goal with an assist by sophomore Cara Goudie, according to a report from coach Jennifer Blaha.

Goudie also scored her first goal of the season on a penalty stroke.

The field hockey team is next in action on Friday against Amesbury.
