Hamilton-Wenham Volleyball Winning Streak Snapped

The Generals had won four straight before falling to Masconmet Thursday evening.

The Hamilton-Wenham girls’ volleyball team snagged a set but ultimately fell to Masconmet in the match, 3-1 Thursday night.

The Generals lost the first set 15-25, but bounced back in the second set with a 25-21 win. Sets three and four went to Masconmet, however, 10-25 and 18-25, respectively.

Junior middle hitter Maia Sprouse contributed two blocks and three kills to the effort, while sophomore Ccily Szady added six kills. Sophomore outside hitter Lauren Flynn had 11 kills and 12 digs with a 100 percent serving day, and sophomore Katie Hankin also registered a 100 percent serving day.

Hamilton-Wenham takes on Lynnfield in an away match Friday at 5:30 p.m. (JV at 4 p.m.)
