Hamilton-Wenham Will Compete in Qualifying Round for 'High School Quiz Show'

A group of four Hamilton-Wenham Regional High School students will soon pit their minds against those of students from 139 other Massachusetts high schools for a chance to appear in Season 7 of WGBH’s ”High School Quiz Show.”

On “Super Sunday,” Nov. 15, teams of four students from schools throughout the state will gather at WGBH Studios in Brighton to take identical oral quizzes of 100 questions based on the Massachusetts curriculum and current events, according to a press release. This qualifying round will determine the teams who will go on to compete in the seventh season of “High School Quiz Show.”

The top 16 teams will qualify to compete in the televised, single-elimination, bracketed academic tournament that will determine a state champion. The top Massachusetts team will then compete in the Governor’s Cup Challenge, during which WGBH’s “High School Quiz Show” state champion team will meet New Hampshire Public Television’s (NHPTV) “Granite State Challenge” winner for the fourth annual interstate quiz show face-off.
