NMYO Presents Honors Chamber Ensemble Concert

NMYO will be presenting a free Honors Chamber Ensemble Concert on Mar. 19 for the entire family to enjoy at the Shalin Liu Performance Cnt.

From The NMYO: The Northeast Massachusetts Youth Orchestras (NMYO) will present their Honors Chamber Ensemble Concert on Sunday, March 19, 2017 at 2:30 pm, at the Shalin Liu Performance Center, 37 Main Street, Rockport, MA. The concert is free and a wonderful way to experience the beauty of the Shalin Liu venue.

“Our Honors Chamber Concert features NMYO’s top student musicians who are chosen because they demonstrate a high level of skill and musicianship,” says Trudy Larson, NMYO’s String and Chamber Music Director. This special concert will include works by Telemann, Sibelius, Haydn, Janacek, and more performed by NMYO’s most accomplished string, wind, brass, and saxophone chamber ensembles. Audience members are invited to attend a reception immediately following the concert to celebrate the accomplishments of these talented young musicians.

All NMYO concerts are family-friendly, and are a great way to expose children to chamber music in a comfortable setting while supporting the musical training of the area’s finest young musicians. The NMYO Honors Chamber Music Concert is free to the public and is sponsored in part by 2 Depot Square Charitable Foundation, Demoulas Foundation, Nathaniel & Elizabeth P. Stevens Foundation, and the Gloucester and Rockport Cultural Councils, local agencies which are supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency.
