Power to be Restored Saturday Night in Hamilton

Three dozen homes in Hamilton lost power during Saturday evening's thunderstorm.

The three dozen homes without power in Hamilton on Saturday night should have it back by 10 p.m., according to National Grid.

Power went out to 31 homes on Cutler Road at about 5:30 p.m. as a strong thunderstorm moved through the area.

The trees and wires came down in the road and closed a portion of Cutler Street to drivers.

A small numbers of home also lost power on Goodhue, Highland and Winthrop streets in Wenham.

In Wenham, lightning struck a home on Pleasant Street. The homeowner, in a comment on Facebook, said the experience was scary but everyone was OK.

In Hamilton, fire and EMS crews checked out a man who said lightning struck near where he was standing.

The storm also cancelled one MBTA commuter rail train and delayed others when a tree fell across the tracks on the Newburyport line, which serves Hamilton-Wenham station.
