The Regional Makes Magazine's Top 50, Drops from Past List
The latest rankings of greater Boston high schools again includes Hamilton-Wenham Regional High School in the top 50.

Boston Magazine, using a formula of test scores, graduation rates, student-to-teacher ratios and other data, has included Hamilton-Wenham Regional High School on its 2014 list of the 50 best public high schools in greater Boston.
Hamilton-Wenham Regional High School ranked at number 31 on the list, just behind Reading Memorial High School and just ahead of Holliston High School.
According to Boston Magazine’s data, Hamilton-Wenham Regional High School has 697 students, has an average class size of 18.1 and a 95.3 percent graduation rate.

This year’s data also includes statistics looking at the dollars spent per SAT point and the number of college counselors in the school. Hamilton-Wenham spends $8.87 per SAT point, versus $6.40 on the low end and $17.99 on the high end. About 80 other schools on the list spend less per SAT point.
Other public schools north of Boston that were on the magazine’s top 50 list include Westford Academy, Winchester High School, Andover High School, Bedford High School, Georgetown High School, Marblehead High School, Lynnfield High School, Newburyport High School, North Reading High School, Pentucket Regional High School and Rockport High School.

In neighboring communities, Manchester-Essex High School was 27 on the list, Masconomet Regional High School was at No. 28, Ipswich High School was No. 55, Danvers High School at No. 78 and Beverly High School was at No. 94.
In 2012, the magazine ranked Hamilton-Wenham Regional High School at No. 19. Last year, the magazine ranked all of the schools in a town. Even though there’s a regional school district, that year it put Wenham at No. 34 and Hamilton at No. 35.
