Two-year-old Lyndon Albers was found on Friday morning after an hours-long search for the toddler who went missing at some point overnight from her Hamilton home.

Hamilton Police Chief Russ Stevens told reporters that the child had been found in an area where passers-by could spot her, but he wouldn’t confirm where that location was or give details about the environment.

Several news outlets are reporting that Albers was found in Rowley, though officials haven’t confirmed that.

WHDH is reporting that the area of Harrision Circle in Rowley is blocked off as police conduct an investigation into Albers’ disappearance. That location is about 7 miles from her Hamilton home.

Stevens told reporters during a briefing that Albers was transported to Beverly Hospital and that her parents were on the way to the hospital to be reunited with her. Beverly Hospital lists Albers in fair condition.

“We’re trying to put the pieces together right now,” Stevens said. “[We] don’t know if she was taken from her home or if she wandered off.”

Albers was last seen by her mother in her Lincoln Avenue home at about 3 a.m. Friday. Albers’ parents called police to report her missing at 7 a.m.

Multiple agencies, including state police, were called in to search for the missing 2-year-old. Stevens said authorities were in the process of issuing an Amber Alert when Albers was found.

“I’m very excited that she was found alive; I’m ecstatic that she’s being reunited with her parents,” Stevens said.

He added that he didn’t believe parents in Hamilton should be concerned.

“As the cop in the town, I’m very connected to the people of this town,” Stevens said. “If I thought that parents should be concerned, I’d be the first to stand here and tell the parents to be concerned.”

Stevens would not comment on whether any charges are pending.
