Town Election Nomination Papers Available in Hamilton, Later This Week in Wenham

The towns of Hamilton and Wenham each have numerous openings on the town election ballot in 2016.

For candidates interested in running, you’ll need to pick up nomination papers from your respective town clerk, collect the necessary signatures and return the documents by the deadline in order to be on the ballot. For individuals interested in running for one of the open Hamilton-Wenham Regional School Committee positions, you’ll need to pick up nomination papers from from Donna Bunk at the Hamilton-Wenham Regional Schools office (5 School St., Wenham),

In Hamilton, nomination papers for town positions became available on Tuesday, Jan. 5. The following positions are up for grabs this year:

• Selectman (2 openings) - 3 years
• Town Moderator - 1 year
• Assessor - 3 years
• Planning Board - 5 years
• Housing Authority - 5 Years
• Housing Authority - 1 year (to fill unexpired term)
• H-W Library Trustee - 3 years
• School Committee (3 openings)- 3 years
• School Committee (1 opening)- 1 year (to fill unexpired term)

Hamilton’s Annual Town Election will take place Thursday, April 7. The deadline to submit nomination papers to be included on the ballot is Thursday, Feb. 18 at 5 p.m.

In Wenham, nomination papers will become available on Friday, Jan. 8, and will require 20 signatures in order to be valid.
