Update: Resident Volunteers Not Needed To Review HW School Agreement

A committee will review the Hamilton-Wenham Regional School District agreement, but volunteers won't be appointed by the selectmen.

HAMILTON-WENHAM, MA – A committee will review the Hamilton-Wenham Regional School District agreement, but the towns don't anticipating needing additional resident volunteers. Resident members will likely already be serving on various town boards and committees.

A previous version of this article said volunteers would be appointed through the Board of Selectmen nomination process, but that is not the case: The initial information relayed to Patch was incorrect. Resident volunteers will serve on the committee, but a different selection process will be used.

The committee will review the district agreement and discuss possible changes to the funding formula, School Committee structure, and other issues.

The committee will be made up of district officials and representatives from each town. The committee will have residents from both communities.
