Wenham Main Street Gets Wider Parking Lane

Main Street's commercial side will look a little different.

WENHAM, MA – The Massachusetts Department of Transportation recently approved the town's plan to create a parking lane on the commercial side of Main Street.

The lane, which meets minimum state standards, will go from Friend Court to Perkins Street. The shoulder on the opposite side of Main Street will be reduced to accommodate the new lane.

According to a statement on the town website, the restriping in the area is expected to happening overnight, either at the end of April or beginning of May.

Parking in the new lane will be limited to two hours, between 8:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. The spaces in front of the post office will be restricted to 15 minute parking, and no parking will be allowed on the residential side.
