Wind Gusts to Peak Late Saturday Night, May Take Down Trees and Wires

A high wind warning is in effect for Hamilton and Wenham on Saturday night through Sunday afternoon.

Strong winds are set to move in to Hamilton and Wenham on Saturday night, prompting the National Weather Service to issue a high wind warning.

The warning runs from 8 p.m. on Saturday through 4 p.m. on Sunday. The warning was issued on Saturday evening, increasing the alert level from a high wind advisory which was previously in effect. The warning includes all of the North Shore and the eastern Massachusetts coast.

The winds will blow out of the north at 20-30 miles per hour with gusts to 55 miles per hour from late Saturday through Sunday afternoon. The gusts will increase on Saturday evening and peak late Saturday night into Sunday morning. The high wind warning was issued because sustained winds of 40 mph or greater and gusts over 58 mph are possible causing damage to trees and property.
