Winter Parking Ban in Effect in Wenham

Time to find a new place to park your vehicles for the season.

The Wenham Police Department is reminding residents that the town’s winter parking ban is now in effect until March 31, 2016.

Under the ban, no vehicles should be parked on the street between midnight and 6 a.m., regardless of the forecast.

Wenham police will begin by issuing warnings in order to encourage compliance with the parking ban, according to a statement from police. Additionally, police warn, vehicles may be towed, at the request of public works, at the owner’s expense if those vehicles are obstructing snow removal efforts.

In Hamilton, there isn’t a seasonal parking ban; however, bans may be issued should the forecast make them necessary at the discretion of the police chief in consultation with the Department of Public Works.
