5-Year-Old Donates BDay Presents to Hingham Toys for Tots Drive
The girl came in with her mom and siblings last Sunday.

As Police Officers, most of our interactions involve when people are having bad days and at their worst. Of course, no one calls 9-1-1 to report how great things are going for them and their family. It's the nature of police work. So when we see the positive and good side of people, sometimes it's like "recharging our batteries" and we're happy to share. It's also a great way to remind the everyone of what a great community we serve.
On Sunday, around 5 pm, a mother and her 3 young children came into our police station lobby with a large bag filled with toys. Since the Public Safety Dispatchers in the Regional Dispatch Center annually set up a Toys for Tots bin in our lobby, this is not unusual.
The Officer at the front desk came out and offered to help unload the bag and the mother explained that her daughter, who is only 5, just had a birthday and they are donating all of her presents to Toys for Tots. Of course, the Officer was just as suprised and impressed at this generous act as anyone. This was not just one present either, but a large bag ful of presents. Kudos to this mother and five year old girl, and of course, Happy Birthday!
