About 35 Minutes: How Long Hingham Residents Commute to Work
For some it's shorter, for some it's longer, either way you'll be in motion (at least some of the time).

If you live in Hingham, you probably spend about 35 minutes commuting to work.
That's according to an interactive map we posted earlier this week that shows average commute times for different neighborhoods in Hingham and elsewhere in Greater Boston.
Route 228 is a headache for Sharon Phillips, who said on Facebook that there are so many schools on the route and it's bad "especially when people don't pull over enough to let others by."
"At 5:40am, it's a quick and pleasant trip from Hingham Center to the Shipyard to get the 6am boat. Also a breeze on the way home. No complaints!" Michael Ferioli said.
Although each neighborhood is different, those who live in northeastern Hingham seem to have lower commute times than other parts of the town, clocking in at about 30 minutes.
Those who live in the northwest, near the square, shipyard and Route 3A, take on average 35 minutes to get to and from work.
On the other hand, if you live in the center of town, near High and Main streets, your commute is on average much longer, taking 43 minutes, according to the map, which is based on the United States Census Bureau's 2011 American Community Survey.
Live in south or east Hingham? Should take you about 32.5 minutes.
