Derby Street Shoppes Hosts Two Block Parties

This fall, Derby Street Shoppes will host two block parties for local charities: a Cycle & Sweat Fitness Event and the annual Halloween Block Party. The Cycle & Sweat Fitness Event will feature nine fitness classes over the course of three hours with all proceeds benefiting ALS ONE, a Massachusetts-based organization dedicated to fighting ALS and providing high-level care for those who have already been diagnosed. The Halloween Block Party will offer two hours of autumn inspired festivities and family fun, including live music, hayrides, and pumpkin carving as well as a food drive in support of the Weymouth Food Pantry. www.thederbystreetshoppes.com

A fitness block party for the whole family, Cycle & Sweat Fitness will feature nine fitness classes over the course of three hours, held every hour, on the hour from9am through 12pm in front of Whole Foods and lululemon at Derby Street Shoppes. Class choices include spinning with Rev’d Cycling, based in Dedham, yoga with lululemon and ivivva, and cardio boot camp with Mobile Fitness. The first 100 people to register via Eventbrite will receive Cycle & Sweat tanks and swag bags. Classes are $15 each. All proceeds benefit ALS ONE and its worthy mission to find a treatment for ALS by 2020 and improve care now. The schedule is as follows:

Halloween Block Party In Support of Weymouth Food Pantry

Children and their parents are invited to don their costumes a few days early for Derby Street’s 2016 Halloween Block Party, a favorite annual event. The Block Party will feature music from Josh & the Jamtones, horse-drawn hayrides, a professional pumpkin carver, a photo booth, and five themed candy stations throughout the property. All activities are complimentary. Families are invited to bring non-perishable food items for donation to the of Weymouth Food Pantry. Canned fruit, spaghetti sauce, salad dressing, non-dairy milk, and low sugar jams and jellies are particularly appreciated.
