High Wind Warning Issued for Tuesday

Would could range from 25-35 mph with gusts up to 45 mph.

The National Weather Service has issued a high wind advisory for Coastal Massachusetts. The warning is in effect from 9 p.m. Tuesday night to 3 a.m. Wednesday.

The National Weather Service reports that a period of strong and possibly damaging southerly winds will occur tonight along the coast as an intensifying storm system passes over western New England. Winds are expected to be anywhere from 25-35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph in Hingham.

The potential exists for downed trees, tree limbs, and power lines. Scattered power outages are likely. Be sure to secure any loose outdoor objects.

Temperatures won't be high enough to bring a snow storm, but the forecast overnight calls for up to one inch of rain. By Wednesday morning, the storm will have likely cleared. The forecast for Wednesday is mostly sunny with a high around 37. 

A high wind advisory is issued when sustained winds are forecast to be 31 to 39 mph or when gusts between 46 and 57 mph are predicted.
