Hingham Celebrates Red Sox World Series Victory
It was the first time the Sox clinched the World Series in Boston since 1918.

As the Boston Red Sox cruised to victory Wednesday night at Fenway Park, cementing their third World Series win in 10 years over the St. Louis Cardinals, the Hingham Police Department was standing by.
Hingham SWAT officers, assigned to the Metropolitan Law Enforcement Council, were in Boston to help cover the game and its celebratory aftermath.
Early in the night, the HPD shared this memento on Twitter: "Showing our support for @RedSox tonight with this video of our Honor Guard "Presenting the Colors" at FenwayPark http://youtu.be/3g1wUc5FTEM"
And followed up with a big digital high five: "Congratulations #2013WorldSeries Champion @RedSox #BostonStrong"
On Facebook, U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-MA, celebrated the victory just after the Sox sealed it in the top of the ninth: "Woohoo! Congratulations Red Sox Nation!!!"
The parody account Hingham Elite had some fun with the game on Twitter last night:
"Love how Big Popeye shoots those balls into the end zone for those grandslam goals! Even have Hingham colors on their costumes #goSox #Lulz"
followed by:
"Correction, butler tells me its Big Poppa. And there's no goals or endzones in baseball. Says I watch too much Revenge reruns #SorryNotSorry"
Congressman Stephen Lynch also got in on the social media congratulations, tweeting, "Congrats @RedSox! World Series Champs! #BostonStrong"
Rep. Garrett Bradley tweeted, ""Great team win for a great team." - John Lackey. Congrats Red Sox World Series Champs!"
