Hingham Man Indicted On Charges In Apple Storefront Crash

Hingham's Bradley Rein, 53, was indicted on charges relating to the death of Kevin Bradley, 65, of Wayne, New Jersey.

HINGHAM, MA — A Hingham man has been indicted on charges that he drove his SUV through a glass Apple storefront window, killing one person and seriously injuring 22 others, Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz announced in a news release Tuesday.

Bradley Rein, 53, was indicted on one count each of Murder in the 2nd Degree and Motor Vehicle Homicide by Reckless Operation in the death of Kevin Bradley, 65, of Wayne, New Jersey. The grand jury additionally voted to indict Rein on Reckless Operation of a Motor Vehicle, 18 counts of Aggravated Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon, and four counts of Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon for injuring 22 other people in the crash, the DA said.

The crash occurred Nov. 21, 2021 at around 10:45 a.m., when first responders received multiple 911 calls from the Derby Street Shoppes, where the store is located, officials said. Rein had driven his 2019 Toyota 4Runner into the store, striking multiple people, and pinning some against a wall, according to authorities.

Rein told police that the crash was caused by his foot becoming stuck on the accelerator pedal, according to the DA.

Victims with varying levels of trauma were treated at South Shore Hospital and Bradley was pronounced dead at the scene, the DA said.

Rein has yet to be arraigned on the charges in Brockton Superior Court, officials said.
