Hingham Police Brace For Polar Plunge At Nantasket Beach

The Polar Plunge is back in person this year where supporters will take a dip in Nantasket Beach's freezing water.

The Hingham Police Department will be at the Polar Plunge selling stickers​ for $10.00 each, to help raise money for the team and all proceeds will go to the Special Olympics.

HINGHAM, MA — Members of the Hingham Police Department will be joining team "Freeze Police" this weekend for the Special Olympics' Polar Plunge at Nantasket beach.

People around the South Shore are joining members of police departments are taking the plunge in freezing conditions to help raise funds for the Special Olympics.

This Saturday, Feb. 26, participants of the Polar Plunge will gather at the MJM Bathhouse on Nantasket beach between 11:00 a.m. and 11:45 a.m. From there, pictures will be taken, costumes will be put on, and people will get ready to plunge one team at a time, instead of all at once.

In light of Friday's storm, organizers are asking everyone to bring warm clothes, whether you're plunging or just cheering people on.

The Hingham Police Department will be there selling stickers for $10.00 each, to help raise money for the team. All proceeds will be donated to the Special Olympics Massachusetts. If you would like to purchase one, they will be available at the front window at the police station.
