Hingham Police Search For Home Break-In Suspects

Jewelry boxes were emptied, dresser drawer taken, back door forced open in Hingham break-in.

HINGHAM, MA — Police are investigating a home break-in that occurred on Harbor View Drive in Hingham on Saturday. Jewelry boxes were found emptied, and a dresser drawer was stolen in the break-in, police say. The homeowners are still working to determine whether anything else was stolen.

Police say they became aware of the incident after a residential alarm went off around 8:10 p.m. When they arrived to the home, officers found the house in darkness and the front door open. The rear door was damaged and had been forced open, police say. And several window screens in the back of the house had been cut, but the windows were locked.

Police believe the suspect was looking for an unlocked window but then entered the home through the back door, later fleeing out the front door, police say.
