Longtime Hingham Police Sgt. Honored at Youth Center Friday Evening
A commemorative plaque wil be displayed in the lobby of the field house.

The Town of Hingham will honor the late Sgt. David Pizzelli, Sr., a 41-year veteran of the Hingham Police Department for his efforts to create a PAL Youth Center on the site of the current Lynch field on Beal Street.
A ceremony will be held at 6 p.m. Oct. 18 at the Beal Street Fields.
"In the 70s Pizzili led a group of 20 Hingham police officers and many volunteers to renovate the World War II Marie drill shed," according to the town website. "The current field house building is located very close to the old 'drill shed' location. Pizzelli, Ed and Jack Lynch along with others created the Hingham Youth Football program."
A commemorative plaque will be displayed in the lobby of the field house. The Hingham Youth Football will also honor its eighth grade players.
