New England Council Elects Hingham Businessman to Board

The New England Council, the country's oldest regional business organization, is an alliance of businesses, academic and health institutions, and public and private organizations throughout New England.

Hingham resident Robert C. Murray, President at Bond Brothers, Inc., has been elected to the Board of Directors of the New England Council, a non-partisan alliance of businesses, academic and health institutions, and public and private organizations.

“Robert is a well-respected leader in the New England business community and we are honored to have him serve on our Board of Directors,” James T. Brett, President  & CEO of the Council said in a statement. 

“Robert’s background in the construction industry will no doubt be a tremendous asset to our organization, and I look forward to working with him to address the many economic challenges the New England region faces.”

The council's board elected Murray and five other new directors at its Sept. 30 meeting in Boston.

Murray has worked at Bond Brothers, Inc. for more than 25 years;. He joined the company in 1986 in an entry-level position and worked his way through the ranks, eventually becoming president in 2008.

Murray is responsible for overseeing all business development efforts, shaping corporate strategy, and driving the company to become best-in-class in all key functional areas, according to a council press release.

In addition to his position at Bond Brothers, Inc., Murray is a Board Director at St. Paul's School in Hingham and serves on the Corporate Council of the American Cancer Society. He received a BS in Civil Engineering from the University of Lowell.
