New England's Hidden History, Cub Scout Meeting
5 Things: A run-down of events and other useful information for your life in Hingham on Oct. 30, 2013.

1. The Senior Center hosts "Hidden History of New England" from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Wednesday afternoon.
"During this Brown Bag lecture, Christopher Klein will take you beneath the familiar surface to discover a rich collection of hidden history: the court-martial of Paul Revere, the quirky history of Plymouth Rock, the "Ice King" who made a fortune shipping frozen water around the world, the myths of the Boston Tea Party, and the witchcraft hysteria that swept Salem."

2. Cub Scout Pack 27 has a Wolf Den Meeting from 7:30 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. in the conference room at Hingham Public Library.
3. South Shore Regional Emergency Communications Center has a personnel hearing at Town Hall at 11 a.m. and then will go into executive session.
4. Bring your umbrella, but be prepared to stow it. There is a slight chance of showers after 11 a.m. but mostly cloudy with a high near 51 degrees Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service. Mostly clear tonight, low around 38.
