North Hingham Resident's iPad Stolen From Front Steps

The second package reported by Hingham Police was stolen during the snow storm Tuesday.

A North Hingham resident told police that a package delivered to their home Tuesday during the snow storm was stolen off the front steps.

It is the second package left outside someone's home in Hingham stolen and reported to police this week. On Monday, a resident said that a package was taken from in front of their rear door.

The second incident was reported to police Thursday, according to an electronic message. A FedEx package containing an iPad arrived Tuesday with the notation that "package left at front door-signature not requested," according to a check by the resident of the tracking number.

"When having valuable items shipped to your home, the most secure way is to require a signature for the delivery to be completed," the HPD said.

"If will not be possible to have someone be home to sign, we recommend arranging for a friend or neighbor to pick it up rather than leave it outside.
