Plymouth County District Attorney's Office: One Man Under Arrest, Guns, Drugs And Cash Seized, After Investigation Into Drug Trafficking

As a result of the investigation, police sought and obtained two search warrants for 95 Clinton Street #1, and 85 Breer Circle.

BROCKTON — Members of Massachusetts State Police and Brockton Police placed one man under arrest and seized guns, cash and drugs off of the streets of Brockton today, Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz has announced.

For several months, MSP assigned to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office, along with Brockton Police, conducted an investigation into drug trafficking within the City of Brockton. As a result of the investigation, police sought and obtained two search warrants for 95 Clinton Street #1, and 85 Breer Circle.

At approximately 10:30 a.m. today, SPDU troopers, MSP Commonwealth Intrastate Narcotics Enforcement Team, along with MSP Special Tactical Operation Team and Brockton Police, executed the search warrants, and secured Derek Depina, 28, of Brockton, in the driveway of 95 Clinton Street, They then made entry into apartment #1.Simultaneously, a team of officers made entry into 85 Breer Circle and secured all occupants without incident.

As a result of the execution of the two search warrants, MSP seized one .45 firearm with a defaced serial number, loaded with seven rounds of ammunition. Another firearm, a Glock 9 mm loaded with eight rounds, was also seized. MSP also located approximately 433 grams of Fentanyl, 98 grams of Cocaine, 34 Suboxone strips and more than $22,000 in cash.

Depina was placed under arrest and is scheduled to be arraigned tomorrow in Brockton District Court on two counts each of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, and one count each of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm with a Defaced Serial Number, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Trafficking Class A-Fentanyl, over 400 grams, Trafficking Class B-Cocaine over 100 grams and, an Armed Career Criminal Firearm Violation with a Prior Conviction of Violent Crime.
