Police Log: Arrest on OUI Warrant, Smoking Squirrel

At 6:53 a.m., an explosion was reported at 30 Thaxter St. The power went out and a resident reported a smoking squirrel on the ground. There was no danger to residents, Hingham police said. The light company restored power.
Corey Miller, 43 of Hingham, was pulled over at Burditt Avenue and Lincoln Street at 4:37 p.m. and charged with operating with a revoked license and speeding.
There was a two-car accident involving no injuries at Old Colony Montessori School at 5:30 p.m.
Police arrested Andrew Curran, 32 of Scituate outside Fresh Market in Hingham at 9:05 p.m., charging him with operating with a suspended license, a revoked registration and an uninsured vehicle. He was also taken in on a warrant for an OUI liquor, leaving the scene of property damage and negligent operation of a motor vehicle.
