Shake Shack To Open 1st South Shore Spot At Derby Street Hingham

HINGHAM, MA — Get ready for Shake Shack South Shore! The first location of the New York-based burger group plans to expand to Hingham's Derby Street Shops in 2022.

With space for both indoor and outdoor seating, the burger company says they plan to be a fun and lively community gathering place with widespread appeal.

Once the shop opens, it will join a number of other locations in the local area, including Boston's Downtown Crossing, the Seaport, Back Bay, Harvard Square, and other locations in Dedham, Watertown, Somerville, Woburn, and another set to open at Encore Boston Harbor in Everett this weekend.

"We are excited to share that Shake Shack will join the Derby Street Shops next year," said Andrew McCaughan, Chief Development Officer at Shake Shack. "We're looking forward to joining a great lineup of shops and restaurants, and bringing our modern roadside burgers and delicious hand-spun shakes and Hingham community."

The burger company will join other new businesses opening in Derby Street Shops between summer 2021 and 2022, including Levi's NextGen store, a custom framing company called Framebridge, a casual apparel store American Giant, Skin Spa New York and a restaurant called Nomai.

Shake Shack at Derby Street will occupy a 4,000 sq. ft. space with design elements inspired by Massachusetts and local historic architecture.

Using Shake Shack's time-saving digital pre-ordering and fulfillment service, the Shack App, guests will be able to pick their food, choose a pickup time and their meal will be cooked-to-order and timed to arrival.

The company did not release an exact opening date yet.
