South Shore Conservatory Nears Fundraising Goal for New Playground

The South Shore Conservatory's Playground Committee is just $17,000 away from it's goal of raising $87,000 for a new playground at SSC. And with four weeks before construction is set to begin, an anonymous donor has pledged a challenge grant of $10,000.

The donor will match donations made before August 31 up to $10,000.

Fundraising for the environmentally-friendly playground began in December 2012. The playground, designed by  Childscapes, will feature two play structures. One area will be for children ages 2-5 and the other for children ages 5-12.

Hundreds of children, ranging from preschool students to neighborhood children, use the playground each week according to the SSC.
