Turkey Trot Brings in 1,200 Pounds of Food for Hingham Pantry

Linden Ponds, on a scenic 108-acre campus in Hingham, is one of 16 continuing care retirement communities managed by Erickson Living.

Linden Ponds' annual Turkey Trot, attended last Friday by more than 100 people who live and work at the Hingham retirement community, gathered more than 1,200 pounds of food for the Hingham Food Pantry.

The residents and staff walked a mile or two at Linden Ponds and also donated bags of groceries to the Hingham Food Pantry.

"Our annual Turkey Trot is always a big success but this was our best year ever,” Barbara Leary, Fitness Specialist, Linden Ponds said in a statement. “We collected 25 percent more food for Hingham Food Pantry this year and more people came out to walk this year.

"Food drive bins are out in all the  clubhouses and both people who live and work here can donate. Linden Ponds and the Hingham Food Pantry have a great relationship and we enjoy helping them every year.”
