Veterans Council Meets, 'The Parent Backpack' at Hingham Library

2. Hingham Public Library hosts ML Nichols, author of The Parent Backpack: How to Support Your Child's Learning, End Homework Meltdowns, and Build Parent-Teacher Connections from 7 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. in the Whiton Room.

3. The Community Preservation Committee meets at 7 p.m. at Town Hall. For a complete agenda and for more Thursday meetings, visit the town's online calendar.

4. It will not be quite as cold Thursday as Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service, with highs approaching 50 degrees and sunny skies. Winds could hit 14 to 16 miles per hour, though. Thursday night should be clear, low around 34.
