2. She Lifts Things Up and Puts Them Down: Congrats to owner Liane Blyn for winning Gold at the North American Powerlifting Championships in the Cayman Islands. Liane was named "Best Lifter" at the competition and she also set a Masters World record in the Bench Press at 381 lbs.

3. Pet of the Week: Meet Jackson Blue. He is a southern gent who arrived at our shelter with his buddy Belle. Both dogs had a rough start to life. Rounded up as part of a hoarding raid, Belle and Jackson luckily were brought up here to find their forever home. Given their rough start the two dogs are very timid with new people and situations, but they have already started to come out of their shell. Jackson Blue will need a quiet home with patient owners. He would do best with another well-adjusted dog. Jackson is very energetic and enjoys playing with other dogs. He is the perfect size, not a toy breed, but small, compact, and athletic. Come meet this sweet, shy little guy soon.
