5 Things: Hopkinton Street Closing, Markey Visits Holliston
Our weekday morning column, 5 Things You Need to Know, provides you with information that can help you plan your day and give you some fodder for water cooler conversations.

1. Markey Visits Fiske's: Congressman Ed Markey chats with John Paltrineri of . Fiske's was one of several Holliston landmarks the Congressman visited briefly yesterday while in town for a reception and meet-and-greet in his honor. The event was hosted by Holliston and Southborough Democratic Town Committees, MetroWest Young Democrats, State Senators Karen Spilka and Jamie Eldridge and State Representative Carolyn Dykema. Should he be successful in his bid for re-election, Markey will represent both Holliston and Southborough as part of the newly-drawn 5th Congressional District.
2. Cub Scouts Take the Drive-In: Interested in joining Cub Scouts? Join the families of ! There are currently many openings for boys going into Grade 1, as well as limited openings for boys entering grades 2-5 this fall. The scouts will be watching Paranorman and Ice Age: Continental Drift at the Mendon Drive-In. Interested families can respond online , if you arrive at 6:30 the pack will cover the $25 cost.

4. Boston Rockhoppers: Last week we told you about , today we're telling you about the local lacrosse team the . They are playing their season this winter in Marlborough. Find more info about the team on the announcement page .
5. Clinton Street Closed:Â The street closing, starting at 8 a.m. will affect Clinton Street only, and should be done by 2 p.m. The goal is to complete the work in one day. Detour signs will be in place and detail police officers will be there to assist motorists around the site, and emergency vehicles will be allowed down the street as needed.
