5 Things: Fancy Pumpkins, Charity Yard Sale

1. Regional Dispatch Voted Down: At last night's meeting, the Holliston Board of Selectmen voted to "respectfully decline" to join a regional dispatch center for emergency services. After a lengthy process it was determined there would be so much upfront cost that it would not be a viable option. They are looking in to other ways to cut redundancies throughout town.
2. Yard Sales For Local Groups: Do you want to get rid of some of your old stuff, but not quite have enough for a yard sale? Donate your goods and help support local groups. In Hopkinton, Baypath Humane Society will be holding a yard sale , route: {:controller=>"announcements", :action=>"show", :id=>"items-needed-for-baypath-fundraiser-b4ae79d3"} --> at the end of the month to support the shelter. For Holliston residents, items can be given to the  Pumpkin Decorating Contest will be able to decorate their gourds Friday, Sept. 21 from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the  will be holding a day in an effort to make the world a more peaceful place.
