5 Things: Lamb Gets Endorsement, Bielat Visits Hopkinton

1. Car Free Week: The Patrick-Murray Administration is encouraging residents who are able to leave their cars in the driveway and try going “car-free” – by bicycling, walking, public transit, carpooling or vanpooling for Massachusetts Car-Free Week starting today. 2. Lamb Gets PAC Endorsement: Last week Francis Faulkner, Associate Director of Citizens for Limited Taxation, announced that CLT's 2 ½ PAC has endorsed Marty Lamb for State Representative. "We are pleased to place our support behind Marty Lamb. He is the candidate who can be trusted to protect the taxpayers at the State House," Faulkner said in a release.

3. Bielat Visits Polyarts: Congressional candidate Sean Bielat stopped by Hopkinton on Saturday to meet and greet people on the town common, he said the following in a press release. "I'm impressed to see the dedication and commitment to the Polyarts Festival," Bielat said. "It takes a lot of hard work to organize events like this, and to celebrate 38 years is quite an accomplishment."

4. Celebrate Holliston Schedule Released: The annual party in Holliston is coming up this weekend, the schedule includes cheerleaders, Blackwell and even a hot dog eating contest. You can find the schedule attached to this post and on the event listing.

5. Hopkinton Student Recognized: Hopkinton High School announced last week that Talia Patapoutian has been named a Semifinalist in the 2013 Nation Merit Scholarship Program. Patapoutian, an "academically talented" high school senior has an opportunity to continue in the competition for some 8,300 National Merit Scholarships worth more than $32 million that will be offered next spring.
