Congressional District Map Released, Holliston Could Change Representatives [POLL]
Ed Markey could be the new representative for Holliston.
Holliston may jump from the 3rd to the 5th district after Massachusetts legislators released a new state Congressional district map yesterday, changing the borders of some Congress members' representation.
A plan proposed by legislative leaders hopes to address challenges that stem from demographic changes and expanding populations. The proposal will create a new seat representing Cape Cod and the south coast, while expanding the districts surrounding Boston, which are growing in population, the Boston Globe reports.
The new districts could weaken incumbent's positions, the Globe said, giving a window to Republicans hoping to challenge the all-Democrat representation.
