Downtown Construction Delays Hopkinton Traffic

It's summer, and in New England that can mean only one thing: road construction season.

Today crews were working all up and down Main Street, paving Grove Street, tearing up Walcott Street and several police officers could be seen directing traffic all the way back to Hayden Rowe Street.

With the majority of the traffic that usually comes up Grove to Main Street directed down Hayden Rowe, an officer had to direct the traffic in lieu of a light. This, along with two other officers directing traffic lead to back up from Grove Street back past Ash Street on the westbound side.

Repaving is expected to be finished by 5 p.m., just in time to clear out before rush hour hits the clogged main drag.
