UPDATED: Firefighters Responding to 40-Acre Brush Fire

Dozens of firefighters are on site working to extinguish a brush fire on Clinton Street.

UPDATE, 3:47 p.m.: The brush fire has reignited and is now covering 40 acres or more, equivlent to a four-alarm fire, according to scanner reports.

3:25 p.m.: Firefighters are unsure of what started a brush fire on Clinton Street on Sunday that burned more than 6 acres of wooded area. 

Area fire departments sent dozens of their trucks and personnel to the blaze that started around noon on Sunday.

Hopkinton Fire Chief, Ken Clark, said a lack of nearby fire hydrants added a challenge to exinguishing the blaze. 

The area was clear of any open flames around 2:30 p.m.
