Boater Dead After Suffering Medical Emergency On Whitehall Reservoir
Police say they were called to the area near 300 Wood Street at 4:42 p.m. Thursday because a boater was in distress.

HOPKINTON, MA — A man is dead after suffering a medical-related emergency while boating in the Whitehall Reservoir Thursday afternoon, according to the Hopkinton Police Department.
Police say they were called to the area near 300 Wood Street at 4:42 p.m. because a boater was in distress.
"Another boater noticed the individual in distress, called 911, and stayed on the telephone with dispatchers while emergency crews responded," moving the boater onto an island and giving him "critical care," police said.

Fire officials took boats to the island and brought him and his family members back to shore, according to police.
The boater was taken to a regional trauma center, where he died, police said.

"The incident remains under investigation by the Hopkinton Police Department, with assistance from the Middlesex County District Attorney's Office," police said.
They added: "It appears the incident was medical in nature, so additional information is not expected to be released."
