Holliston Police Log: Camping Neighbors, Domestic Assault

Wednesday, Aug. 29
4:37 a.m.: A caller from Temi Road reported that she noticed someone walking around her neighbor’s house with a flashlight. An officer responded and spoke to the homeowner who had given permission to let people camp in the yard.
7:01 a.m.: An alarm company reported that a glass door had been broken in to at . An officer responded and spoke to a worker who had the improper pass code.

7:06 a.m.: An officer checked school bus traffic in the downtown area.
9:22 a.m.: A person from Woodland Street went in to the to report illegal dumping.

9:56 a.m.: An officer responded to a 911 call about domestic assault on Washington Street. William Tolan, 56, of 927 Washington St., was arrested. He is charged with assault and battery.
11:30 a.m.: An officer issued a summons after a person went in to the station to report a domestic assault.
12:25 p.m.: An officer responded to a crash in the parking lot of .
12:48 p.m.: An officer stopped a vehicle on Prentice Street and gave the driver a verbal warning for speeding. Marijuana was also confiscated from the driver.
6:15 p.m.: An officer issued a verbal warning for a stop sign violation on High Street.
6:16 p.m.: A caller from Rolling Meadow Drive reported that beverages had been stolen from his garage overnight.
9:00 p.m.: A Holliston ambulance driver reported being passed on Concord Street by a vehicle. An officer found the vehicle and spoke to the operator.
Thursday, Aug. 30
7:15 p.m.: A caller reported broken glass in the roadway near the intersection of Travis Road and Westfield Drive. was notified.
8:10 a.m.: Officers responded to a . One person was hospitalized.
12:21 p.m.: A vehicle struck and killed a dog on Dalton Road. The operator of the vehicle was advised to fill out a report. The neighbor of the dog’s owner took custody of the dog’s body and notified the owner.
2:59 p.m.: A resident of Ridge Road reported larceny.
3:43 p.m.: A caller from a business on Washington Street reported that people went in to his business inquiring about scrap metal and discussing surplus machine equipment. The caller requested extra checks of the area.
4:10 p.m.: A caller reported a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on Washington Street. They were unable to get the license plate number off the grey SUV.
4:40 p.m.: An officer issued a parking ticket after a yellow jeep was parked illegally in the handicapped spot at .
5:08 p.m.: A caller reported a crash at the intersection of Concord and Baker streets. 5:28 p.m.: A caller reported a car crash on Washington Street. The caller said they had hit a deer. The vehicle was towed.
8:30 p.m.: A caller reported a motor vehicle crash at on Washington Street.
9:29 p.m.: An officer spoke to a group of youths on Marked Tree Road and asked them to quiet down.
9:30 p.m.: An officer attempted to locate a vehicle that was reported to have passed another vehicle on Summer Street.
