Holliston Police Log: Car Break-Ins, Earthquake Calls

The following information was provided by the Police Department. Charges do not indicate a conviction. All arrests are reported.

Monday Oct. 15

1:09 a.m.: An officer secured the Town Hall doors.

2:45 a.m.: An officer spoke with three males who were walking on Washington Street near Dunkin Donuts .

2:30 a.m.: A person walked in to the Holliston Police Department to report a male who was passed out on a picnic table at Holliston Cleaners. The male was taken in to protective custody.

7:16 a.m.: The operator of a bus reported that a vehicle passed it while its lights were activated on Woodland Street.

7:38 a.m.: A caller reported a suspicious gray Jeep with its hazard lights flashing on the side of Norfolk Street. An officer responded and spoke to the operator.

8:13 a.m.: An officer assisted with the paper exchange after a past motor vehicle crash.

9:16 a.m.: A 911 caller reported a three-car crash on Washington Street.

11:36 a.m.: An officer investigated a juvenile incident at Holliston High School.

11:39 a.m.: A resident of Pinecrest Road reported that someone entered his unlocked vehicle overnight and stole $4 in loose change.

12:56 p.m.: The Water Department reported a water main break on Appleyard Lane.

2:14 p.m.: An officer responded to a two-car crash on Concord Street.

3:09 p.m.: An officer responded to a two-car crash at Holliston High School.

7:15 p.m.: A caller from Pinecrest Road reported that overnight $6 in change was stolen from his daughter’s unlocked vehicle.

9:09 p.m.: A caller from Kingsbury Landing reported a suspicious male walking around her front lawn. An officer responded and spoke to the male who was picking up an eBay item.

11:02 p.m.: The Water Department partially closed Appleyard Lane to fix a water main break.

Tuesday, Oct. 16

12:56 a.m.: An officer checked the Pinecrest Road area. No one was around; everything appeared OK.

7:44 a.m.: A caller reported a suspicious vehicle parked at the town forest. An officer spoke to the people when they returned to their vehicle.

8:49 a.m.: A resident of Pinecrest Road reported larceny from their motor vehicle.

9:02 a.m.: A resident of Hollis Street reported larceny form their motor vehicle.

11:00 a.m.: The Water Department reported another water main break on Appleyard Lane.

11:17 a.m.: An officer reported a large turtle in the crosswalk at the intersection of Washington and Hollis streets. The officer reported that the turtle was dead.

3:05 p.m.: A caller from Northway Street reported that a suspicious vehicle fled when they approached it. An officer spoke with the vehicle’s occupants who were soliciting for Verizon.

6:15 p.m.: An officer assisted with an emergency shelter at Holliston Middle School for residents without water due to the broken water main on Appleyard Lane.

6:20 p.m.: A caller from Gorwin Drive reported that when she returned home her front door was open and a key that did not belong to her was on the table. Nothing else seemed out of place.

6:24 p.m.: A caller from Concord Street reported that a dog had been struck by a vehicle in front of her house. Before Animal Control could get the dog to the hospital it died.

7:12 p.m.: Several callers from different areas of town reported a large tremor. The residents felt an earthquake that occurred in Maine .

10:15 p.m.: A 91 caller reported a car that crashed into a tree on Bullard Street. The vehicle was towed and the operator was given a summons.
