Holliston Resident Recognized For Disability Commitment Services
Shelia Joslin has dedicated 60 years of her life helping people with disabilities and was finally recognized by the Boston Celtics.
From Boston Celtics: Revere native and Holliston resident Sheila Joslin first started working with people with disabilities in 1957 when a program for kids with disabilities opened near her home.
For 60 years Sheila has dedicated her life to advocating for disability rights and serving people with disabilities and their families. True to her mission, Sheila adopted a child with disabilities who tragically died in 1982. Inspired by his memory and her former students Sheila runs marathons in retirement raising thousands of dollars for Easter Seals mission of providing equal opportunities for people with disabilities.
The Boston Celtics honored Shelia for her lifelong commitment to services and rights for people with disabilities.

Since its establishment in 1997 by the Boston Celtics, The Heroes Among Us program has recognized outstanding individuals who have made exceptional and lasting contributions to their communities. The award is presented at every Celtics home game and pays tribute to the heroic achievements of these outstanding citizens.
